Fundamentals for Cricket

This program is the MOST important starting point that too many parents and coaches overlook. It's the fundamentals that every sportsman or sportswomen on the planet needs to learn and develop if they want to succeed with their cricket.

By ensuring you develop these fundamental sporting and cricket skills, you will set your child up for success! Here's what you get in this program:

• 36 lessons covering the top 10 skills you need to be teaching your child at home FIRST (based off things that all GREAT cricketers do well)

Coaching Essentials

What is your role as a parent coach? How involved should you be? What do you focus on in a session? How do you run a session? How do you talk to your child? What do you say to them? What do you coach?

In this section we answer these questions and many more, plus give you direction on how to make the biggest impact to your child in a balanced, supportive, and encouraging way that your kids will love and cherish. You'll learn:

Section #2

Batting

Because batting has so many variables, with different shots off both the front foot and back foot to teach (alongside the seemingly confusing technical points to get right) it can feel VERY daunting to work with your young child and coach them.

Let us put your mind to rest here….

If you follow some simple steps that we will guide you with, and have PATIENCE, anyone can coach their child the basics of batting through to the technical aspects of each shot.

The Batting section currently has 2 stages, over 37 lessons, and as we add new lessons regularly, it will expand out into 5 stages.

Section #3

Bowling

Bowling is such a fun skill to learn, but it is also one of the most difficult sporting disciplines to learn and do - which can make it something that is hard to teach...

But through the right drills and basic knowledge you can set your child on the right track to being a top-class bowler... Or towards fixing the bad mistakes or habits that they have already learned!

In this section you will learn to teach your child to bowl from beginning through to mastering their technique, whether they are a pace bowler, a seamer, a wrist spinner or a finger spinner.

The Bowling section currently has 3 stages, and as we add new lessons regularly, it will expand out into 5 stages. 

Bowling Section Highlights:

• So much of my time coaching kids is spent fixing bowling problems and habits that have been picked up due to them not being taught the basics, and we're going to make sure you don't make these mistakes.
• You'll learn how to teach the correct grip, bowling action, release point, run-up, bound and gather, delivery, follow through and more!

Section #4

Fielding

50-90% of the time your child spends on a cricket field will be fielding, so you must teach them to love this part of the game... And they will certainly love it, if you teach them to be good at it.

Balance, dynamic stability, hand-eye coordination and visual skills from the fundamentals and visual skills sections all play a part in building the foundation for this section.

And then in this section we provide lessons on all the correct techniques and the simple drills to do that will hone your child's skills, and turn them into the next Jonty Rhodes.

Wicket-Keeping

Wicket-Keeping is one of the most valuable roles in a cricket team and should be played by someone who loves that role.

In this section we help you figure out whether your child is a potential wicket-keeper, and then show you how to teach the correct technique and give you the drills that will develop all the skills they need to succeed.

Wicket-Keeping Section Highlights:

Visual Skills

This is the skillset that your child needs to continuously develop for every single aspect of their cricket, and for every other sport that they play.

These visual skills will drastically help their batting, their bowling, their fielding (and wicket-keeping), and often in ways that you might not expect...

For example, Visual Memory of where the fielders are, so they can play their shots into the gap while watching the ball (and not looking up for the gap while playing the shot).
